My chest flutters. Like a big fish flopping around. I take a quick intake of breath every time it happens, which is almost daily now. I am female - 65 years. It is especially frequent after the evening meal. I have asthma and CNS problems from 5 herniated discs at: C2,C3, C4, C5, & C7 in the neck. This flip flopping has no pain, no shooting down the arm, no trouble breathing, etc. I have found that sleeping with a vaporizer running and taking expectorants like Musinex before bedtime greatly reduce and sometimes even eliminate these flip flops. Coffee and dehydration seem to exacerbate the problem. I have slightly elevated blood pressure that reduces to 120/70 with 1 pill daily of 1 mm of Clonidine. My question: Does it sound like pulmonary or cardiac?
