My Cholesterol Is Actually Not Elevated And My Ratios Are

My cholesterol is actually not elevated and my ratios are good. A screening ct scan, however, though fo lung cancer, negative, showed atherosclerosis bith aortal and coronary. My internist thinks i should go on statins. I have barretts esophagus. I think lipitor is contraindicated. Should i see a cardiologist before proceeding.? I am asympomatic.
