My College Age Daughter Is Complaining Of A Sore Throat

My college age daughter is complaining of a sore throat and pain on only one side of her throat and her neck. She has tried to get an appointment at her student health center but was told she would have to wait until Monday. Would you advise her to have it checked out before then? She says she has never had anything like this before and it is a new one for me as well.
