My Cousin Went To Her Dentist For A Regular Checkup

My cousin went to her dentist for a regular checkup and when they found a dark color in the upper palate of her mouth they called her and told her that they would need her to do a biopsy of that. Now she is so scared and wondering if she might have cancer.....is there a possibility that she may have Cancer? or is there some other concerns that i may be overlooking? please help.
