My Cuticle Around My Finger Nail Is Irritated, Burning, Red,

My cuticle around my finger nail is irritated, burning, red, and swollen. Are there any home remedies I can do to help my symptoms? I have soaked my finger in warm water, put antibiotic ointment on it with a band aid and iced it. It is the second day and I don't thing it's improving. What should I do?
