My Dad Had A Thorne In His Finger Last Week.

My dad had a thorne in his finger last week. Last night it swoll and its red and painful. He went to the doctors today and took a x ray and did t see anything and gave antibiotics. Is there another way we can find out if the thorne is in his finger. We are worried. Thank you
