My Dad Has A Hip Spacer And Intense Pain --

My dad has a hip spacer and intense pain -- opiates have side effects. Someone suggested using something from marijuana ... I;m not sure whether that would be an ointment, or whether there are tablets. Also wondering if it could be combined with his other medications in order to diminish his opiates. What do you suggest? He has a doc appt tomorrow and my Mom wants some info to present. Thanks.
