My Dad Has Been A Very Active 95 Year Old

My dad has been a very active 95 year old until the past three months. HIs heart rate is in the low forties and when not on oxygen, his level is in the lower eighties. He was diagonised with a-fib several years ago. He has an appointment in two weeks with the electro-cardiologist to discuss a pacemaker. Will a pacemaker while increasing his heartrate also increase his oxygen level?
