My Dad Is 79 Years Old And Was Just Told

My dad is 79 years old and was just told that both of his neck arteries are about 98 percent blocked. They tried to stent it and their was no way. He is also having a weak pulse know in one of his leg. I am wondering what other tests can be done or surgery can be done? We have an appointment with a vasuclar surgeon next week?
