My Dad Is Wearing A Catheter. Seems That He Cannot

My dad is wearing a catheter. Seems that he cannot get the urge to urinate. Are they any foods or suggestions we can explore? His primary physician seems to think that there's not a lot he can do for him. There has to be a way to stimulate the bladder to make him go #1? He can go #2 but not #1.
