My Dad Just Had Cataract Surgery Yesterday. His Sister Is

My dad just had cataract surgery yesterday. His sister is on her death bed and the doctors have given her only a few days. My question is if we tell my father of her passing he will probably cry. Is it safe for him to cry or should we just hide the news until after another 2 weeks??
