My Dad Recently Lost His Wife And Is Severely Depressed.

My dad recently lost his wife and is severely depressed. He started binge drinking and falling a lot. We got him in the hospital and he had low sodium and potassium levels. He got out of hospital and snuck off from my sisters and binge drank again. He is at my sisters house and losing his bowels constantly. I told her to take him back to the hospital. Is this normal as he is 76.
