My Daughter 37 Yrs Started With A Plugged Ear For

My daughter 37 yrs started with a plugged ear for a few weeks, that went away with meds. Now some foods and smells( like toothpaste, soap, gasoline Hamburg, wings all have the same smell and taste.) Where some foods are fine like beans and potatoes. This has gone away twice for about 4 days but comes back She has an appt with a ent doctor and her pcp said no one has ever came to him with this problem. Meds they gave her nasal spray, prednisone, z-pack amoxicillin . Any help or ideas what is going on would be helpful thank you. Her pcp says she has a sinus inf and a little fluid in one ear and gave her leviquin. She feels fine not sick at all. I hate to say this but how do I know a real specialist or Dr. is answering this. Sorry if this affends you but I've been stung too many times, you could be anybody scamming. Before I pay I would like some reinsurance on who is on the other end of this message.please reply before I go any further
