My Daughter Came Home From Her Cheer Practice, Saying She

My daughter came home from her cheer practice, saying she dislocated her knee cap. They "popped" it back in place and are now icing. Do I need an x-ray to detect a possible bone fracture? Is an MRI a good idea as well to see if she tore anything? Do I need both or will a MRI show tears and broken bones?
