My Daughter Feels She Has Something Stuck In Her Sinus

My daughter feels she has something stuck in her sinus cavity, and her primary cannot see far enough to tell. She sees an ENT in a week, but in the meantime everything she eats she says is going up there. My question is two fold - Should she wait that long if something is in fact stuck? Also, she has a split epiglottis, and I'm wondering if this could be causing this issue?
