My Daughter Has A Peanut Feeling Lump On The Left

My daughter has a peanut feeling lump on the left side of her vagina. I'm scared because cancer runs in our family and my brother and sister whom are only in there early 40 have cancer already. What should I expect when I take her into the doctor? Could it be a hernia or a cyst?
