My Daughter Has A Wart On The Inner Part Of

My daughter has a wart on the inner part of her thumb. We have tried several things to cure it, the latest being these compound w wart remover band aids. The first few days it seemed as if it was dying but we just removed the band aid and the wart appears hard and swollen and the skin around the wart is a reddish brown color. She says it doesn't hurt but it doesn't look normal. What could it be and why is the skin do discolored? Should we be concerned?
