My Daughter Has Been Diagnosed As Having A Keratoacanthoma On

My daughter has been diagnosed as having a keratoacanthoma on her finger. She has to wait a further 3 weeks for her appointment to be treated, but the tumor is leaking green pus and smells quite badly. There are no other symptoms.
Is there any reason to be unduly worried about this?
