My Daughter Has Had Bronchitis And Then Pneumonia For Several

My daughter has had bronchitis and then pneumonia for several weeks now. She is 25 weeks pregnant. She is taking breathing treatments and now prednisone. they say now it might be asthmatic bronchial pneumonia. She has coughed so hard they think she has cracked a couple of ribs. She also feels sharp shooting pains from her back around to her front when coughing so hard...just like something is ripping. Can this severe coughing hurt the baby or detach the placenta etc?
