My Daughter Is 17 And This Is The 2nd Month

My daughter is 17 and this is the 2nd month that around the beginning of her period she gets weird, for lack of a better word. She says she feels like everything is a dream and she just sleeps a lot. She usually gets nauseous a day or two before hand and then she starts having these weird symptoms. Could this be a hormonal issue?
