My Daughter Is 27 Years Old She Did An Ultrasound

My daughter is 27 years old she did an ultrasound and a pap smear. Dr said she seen cyst in her ovaries and pap smear came back abnormal. Now they want to do a byopsy! In your opinion what are possible causes of abnormalities? And is this the right methodof treatment?
