My Daughter Is A Dancer. About 9 Months Back During

My daughter is a dancer. About 9 months back during a practice she was dropped and hit her back on the floor. She now has a lump that is really tender to the touch. At first it was a good size but it has shrunken down a bit. What could be going on. It's in the mid to lower back area off just slightly of the spine
