My Daughter Is Away At College. Before Leaving, She Had

My daughter is away at college. Before leaving, she had a tube inserted into her ear drum to counteract a middle ear condition involving the Eustachian tube, hearing loss and pressure. One night a month ago, she turned her head sharply, felt a painful popping near the front side of her throat, became light headed and passed out. Belatedly, she tells me that one time the pain in her throat happened in high school, but without the fainting. However, since this most recent event, the occasional twist of pain accompanied by a feeling of tightness in the throat and lightheadedness - is now happening with some frequency. Ear? Vascular? Spinal? I'm very concerned but don't want to scare her. What steps do we need to take to have this checked out? What kind of doctor? She's in the middle of Manhattan and attends college full time. Age 19. Has fainted a couple of times in childhood associated with needles, ear piercing, etc.
