My daughter is enrolled in an Estheticain program and is learning to use a "Portable High Frequency Machine" to promote skin elasticity and treat acne by providing skin warming and oxiginating the skin cells opening yet shrinking pores. This appears to be nothing more than a long arc neon light (argon in some cases) which produces a RF field in the 20Mhz range. Articles claim that this treatment has been used for almost 100 years even by dermatologists. This idea seems to come from the same era as Royal Rife's sympathetic stimulation of the natural frequency of objects to distroy bacteria, viruses and even cancer.
Is this a bonafide treatment regime? What are the hazzards appart from RF energy burns?
