My Daughter Teaches 2nd Grade In A Title 1 School.

My daughter teaches 2nd grade in a title 1 school. Today one of her 8 year old students (today was his birthday which seemed to greatly upset him) had continual meltdowns and was violent toward her and the other students. At one point he sat on the floor and appeared catatonic for about an hour. The child had no expression and didn't even blink. When he came out of this state he was very unlike himself. Unusual speech and generally odd behavior. About a half an hour later he returned to his more usual behavior but violently refused to go home. The catatonic behavior we have never seen before.
