My Daughter Was Told By A Doctor That Her Blood

My daughter was told by a doctor that her blood was infected, what does that mean and what is the prognosis for something like this. She is always tired and her appitite is not normal, she said she feels depressed with no energy. Please tell me what this could possible be?? worried Mother!
