Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter who is 18 has weight issues for her entire life. She has had her thyroid checked twice throughout her childhood and nothing showed. She went on this hormone diet at 16 and lost 75 pounds. Since that time she has had terrible memories of childhood bullying and I put her in therapy in 8th grade. She remained in therapy, but got a binge eating disorder her junior year of high school. I had to admit her to COPE at UPMC Pittsburgh where she was admitted for 3 weeks. She was suicidal. She started a new therapy and a Psychiatrist put her on aderall which seemed to work for awhile, but now she is starting to feel suicidal and cannot focus. I want to take her to a neurologist to see if she may have a chemical imbalance or a brain tumor. I have a meningioma tumor and so did my mother. I am desperate to find out what is wrong. She was extremely depressed this weekend and not herself. I called crisis to talk to her because I am 3 hours away from her. She is in college now.
