My Daughter Who Will Turn 17 This Month, Has A

My daughter who will turn 17 this month, has a swollen ring around her anus when she strains to poop. She also says her stomach is hurting. She had her last BM yesterday or day before (she isn't quite sure). Could this be hemorrhoids or prolapse? She says she is normally constipated ( unfortunately this is a trait on my mothers side) and has trouble passing stools due to them being so hard. She does pass a NM at least every 3 days. Just wondering what I should do. I took her to her doctor a few months ago. He said she did not have hemorrhoids, my daughter insist he is wrong, what can we do to reduce her swelling and discomfort. She takes Motrin when she needs it. But doesn't drink a whole lot of water no matter how much I nag. She also has stool softener but it doesn't seem to help. ( that's if she takes it. I remind her every day however wether she chooses to heed my advice or not, I do not know). Thanks and sorry so long, just trying to give as many details as possible.
