My Daughter's Boyfriend Is Gluten And Dairy Intolerant. But Lately

My daughter's boyfriend is gluten and dairy intolerant. But lately there has been much more foods such as sugar, spicy foods, ketchup etc that is being blamed for his stomach hurting and excessive bowel movements. Could this be an underlying problem that's causing these foods to hurt his stomach?
