My Doctor Increased My Pravastatin To 80 From 40 Mg.

My doctor increased my pravastatin to 80 from 40 mg. I have had a bad reaction: aches and pains, fatigue, depression, joint pain, etc. so I stopped all my statins for three days and felt the best I have felt in years. But I have read that it is dangerous to stop statins cold turkey so I took 40 mg - the old dosage - last night. Now I am getting leg pain again. I have a blocked- 50 to 69% - artery that is being monitored. I am on a weight loss program to lose 20 pounds. I am 69, weigh 155 and am 5 ft 6 inches tall. What are my options? I really want to stop the statins.
