My Doctor Recently Diagnosed Me With Strep Throat To Come

My doctor recently diagnosed me with strep throat to come to find out my sister was diagnosed with mono 2 days later. I was on antibiotics for a week throat seemed to clear up but now I'm experiencing a uncomfortable feeling in my throat when I sniff. Also I'm very clogged up and have a headache for the last few days. Is it possible my doctor may have diagnosed me wrong? Could I have mono?
