My Dog Is Having A Problem With Breaking Out With

My dog is having a problem with breaking out with it why bombs that turn into little blisters much like chicken pox. When my son had them really bad, the doctor said to bathe him in cool soda water. If I use that for my dog, would it be bad for him in any way?
