My Dog Is Shedding Way Too Much For This Season

My dog is shedding way too much for this season and has been losing weight. We had a complete blood panel done on him and with no exciting results. The only thing the vet noted was that his thyroid was in the normal range but on the lower end. Is there anything else we should look at?
