My Eleven Year Old Son Broke His Wrist Falling Off

My eleven year old son broke his wrist falling off the slide. He is a very active kid. He has a cast and is using his wrist like he would if he didn't have a cast on. For example, I just caught him riding the tractor and using both hands to steer. Am I being over protective?
