My Father, 82 Years Old Had Accident And Suffered Head
My father, 82 years old had accident and suffered head injury having 4 subdural contusions hemmerhages. He was conscious for 2-3 hours daily after hospitalization in ICU of 6 days. wexing-maning stage was observed for next 7 days. later on , he is almost unconsious since next 25 days. Trecheostomy done for removal of cough as he is prone to asthama, diabetes, hypo thyrodism. It is now total 35 days since his accident and having same unconscious status. His all main systems like kidney, heart, lever are normal. We have to do suction cough through trechiostomy hole at every 2 hours. Feeding is done through Ryne's tube only at every 2 hours. Blood pressure of patient remains 110-130/70-80 range and heart beats in the range of 97-109. Urine output is full through catheter. Oxygen level remains 86-90 level with self breathing. Pupils gives responses when light is thrown at it. He moves one hand and two legs occassionally.
He is on air bed to avoid bed soar. However he develops 3 bed soars now. What kind of status of my father at present on above observations? Shall we try or is it a lost case?
