My Father Had A Goiter Removed When He Was 20.

My father had a goiter removed when he was 20. My son, 19, a very strong athlete and distance runner in college has started eating far more than usual and feeling very tired. He went to the college medical center today, and they are doing blood tests on him. Does this sound like a thyroid problem symptoms?
