My father had open heart surgery last Friday and by Saturday morning was conscious however on Saturday when assessed based on his struggles with breathing and pain, they decided to put him in an induced coma which he is still in after 3 more days - still in the coma. Is this normal after open heart surgery and what are the effects of being in this for this amount of time.....
