My Father Has Been Taking Eliquos After A Stroke For

My father has been taking Eliquos after a stroke for at least 1 year and a half now. He is taking 5mg twice a day. After taking his pill tonight, when he went to the bathroom, he had a bit of blood in his urine. Is it possible that they are too strong now for him. He is kind of panicking.
