My Father Has Tingling On Both Of His Feet And

My father has tingling on both of his feet and legs. He is 80 years of age. He feels something is squeezing him from waist down. It started from his feet and it's working it's way up to his waste. He had shingles about two months ago and is on medication for that. What can it be? He is not diabetic.
