My Father In Law Was Recently Diagnosed With Pleural Mesothelioma.

My father in law was recently diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma. he has a PleurX device to drain his pleural space. He is sitting more than he normally does as he is short of breath. Just today, he started to get swelling around both of his ankles. His shortness of breath has not increased and he has no other symptoms. Is this common with mesothelioma?
