My Father Is 73 Y/o With Drainage/swelling Of Bilateral Ear

My father is 73 y/o with drainage/swelling of bilateral ear canals x 1 week, treated with anbx x 5 days - no improvement. Developed swelling/crusty drainage of eyes overnight and cough with dark brown sputum. Dr. gave a second antibiotic yesterday. Labs showed elevated white count only, blood cultures pending. Advice on what type infection he may have? They have not cultured the sputum nor the drainage from eyes, ears.
Could an ENT be of help at this point, or ED use advised?
