My Father Is 77 And Has Parkinson's With Onset Dementia.

My father is 77 and has Parkinson's with onset dementia. He is in a wheel chair because his knees have locked. The past 3 days he has had episodes where his arms and hands shake violently and he said it feels like a band tightening around his head. He has very slurred and unintelligible speak when this happens and slowly it disappears. I have spoken with the nurses and the VA hospital. They are recommending we bring him in to the ER for a check over, but he is resisting in many ways. I don't want a diagnosis, just an idea of what things this may fit. He has his own theory and I really would like information to use for him coming to terms with the visit. I have given my instructions to call 911 and take him by ambulance if it happens again and I will meet her there. Any insight or research you can direct me to would be helpful and comforting for me.

Thank you.
