Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father is 84 years old and the doctor has indicated that he s suffering from systolic heart failure, and the physician indicated the heart is functioning at 50%. Since my father has never smoked, and has been generally very healthy I.E.: no obesity, no processed foods, no diabetic history, what might his life expectancy be with proper care. The doctor also stated that his heart stiffness is the result of his age. My father had bypass surgery in 2005 at age 73 and the cardiologist stated his heart was strong and looked wonderful due to his healthy lifestyle. Doctor commented he had the heart of a 65 year old at that time.....should I ask about ACE meds........... life expectancy....? Thank you, Nicholas from Michigan.
