Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father is 86 and is using a Foley cather. At night he has been pulling his shorts down and on the tube in his sleep and has developed a wound and an inflammation on his penis and as such he is on antibiotics. During the day he has no problems. To prevent him pulling at the tubing while wearing his bedside drainage bag I put him in a pair of sweatpants and ran the long tube along his leg under his pants. The tube comes out at the ankle and continues to run down to wear I hook the bag on the side of the bed down towards his feet. Is this a safe option and will it work? Thank you.
