My Father Is 88 Years Old Diabetic. Sugar Level Is

My father is 88 years old diabetic. Sugar level is over 200. He is not taking any sugars including no fruit juices. My mother is concerned that sugar level is not being control with medication. Possible pancreas infected? My father also losing a lot of weight.
