My Father Just Died Of Renal Failure After A Radical

My father just died of renal failure after a radical nephrectomy of his left kidney. His surgery was delayed for five weeks because his white blood cell count was too high. It was lowered to normal levels in four days but surgery was put off for 4 1/2 more weeks due to the surgeon's vacation and other a appointments. After surgery, the surgeon told us that we would get the results of the pathology report in ten days at the oncologist 's office. The oncologist ordered his first pet scan. This too was delayed for a few weeks. After the results my father endured two triweekly chemo treatments. A week before his next treatment, he died. Was there anything else that could have been done like medication or am arterial embolization? He was in excellent health, power walked every day and took pride in being very active
