My Father Recently Had Hernia Surgery In Conjunction With Having

My father recently had hernia surgery in conjunction with having his penis stretched internally due to an inactive bladder. My dad has had surgery in the past and has some scar tissue in his penis. The hernia repair was successful but my dad was given a catheter to use to ease his bladder issues. What else may be done to improve his ability to urinate regularly?
