My Father's Liver And Kidney Functions Labs Were: They Told

My father's liver and kidney functions labs were: they told me low hemoglobin, high protein and we took him for a CT scan and they were unable to give him the dye because is GFR(?)was 43. He has had high lood pressure for awhile and has been on meds. My father is 82. They drew the blood work again today but I'm just concerned. What does that mean low hemoglobin and what can that effect if it's low and how about high protein ?
