My Fertility Doctor (who I Am Starting To Question), Has

My fertility doctor (who I am starting to question), has decided today to prescribe me Levora to "suspend" my hormones and delay my menstrual cycle for 1 week because he will be not be available to do an IUI procedure during the holiday. I am cycle day 1 and this will suspend my cycle a week, allowing me to do an IUI on his schedule. Is this a normal thing to do? I am wondering if just waiting another cycle is the better option.
