My Fiance' S Ex Brought His Kid Back With A

My fiance' s ex brought his kid back with a black eye. Saying the child ran into a door knob. The child is 2, the bruise is across the top of the nose and under the inner eye next to the nose. My question is what are the chances of a toddler actually hitting the door themselves with that much force? I'm worried foul play is going on
